What to Do at Home During Coronavirus Outbreak?
Coronavirus self-isolation is advised for people who are living in areas that have been affected by the virus. That’s why many go into voluntary coronavirus quarantine at home, meaning they don’t leave their home. If you’re one of those people and you’re stuck at home for the next couple of weeks, put that time into good use. Here are 10 great ideas so you can make the most of it!
1. Learn a New Skill
Whether that’s learning a new language, learning how to draw, play guitar, use photoshop, coding, or simply learning more about history, math, science, etc., there’s a course for it on the Internet. Go on Udemy, Coursera, Duolingo, Khan Academy, etc., to find what you’re looking for.
2. Binge Watch a TV Show
Go on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or other streaming sites and find great shows to binge on. My personal favorites are Rick and Morty and Black Mirror. If you’re into Japanese anime I suggest Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
3. Discover New Films
Browse IDMb or Rotten Tomatoes, so you can find the best films on the genres you enjoy the most. You can also browse Netflix, which has a great collection of films you can watch at any time. My personal favorites are Kimi No Nawa, Big Hero 6 but I also recommend some Korean movies. Parasite and Oldboy are must see.
4. Play a New Game
If you like playing on mobile go to the appstore and browse through. If you like Crafting/RPG/Puzzle game I suggest playing Dawn of Crafting. If you like playing on computer browse Steam. If you feel lazy and just want to play on web, give Colonist.io a try?
Colonist.io is an alternative to the popular board game Settlers of Catan, and if you’ve ever played it, you’ll find this game super exciting.

I recommend you browse Pinterest so you can find DIY projects you can get into, no matter your level of expertise. If you’ve never done anything like this before, start with easy, simple projects, and graduate from that!
7. Rearrange Your Room
If your room has looked the same for years, your coronavirus quarantine might be a good time to refurbish it a bit or rearrange it so it can look like new. Change is a huge part of life and we change a lot throughout the years. It’s important our spaces represent who we are and how we feel, so we can truly feel at home.
8. Try New Recipes
Food is one of the easiest ways to feel better about life, so if you’re stuck at home because of the coronavirus quarantine, you can take the time to learn and try new recipes. It doesn’t matter whether they’re savory or sweet! What matters is that you have a good time in the kitchen and let your imagination fly as well. The kitchen is a space of creativity and creation, so I recommend you challenge yourself with new recipes you think you’d like. This way, you can learn something new, and then you can show off to friends and family.
